I'm a software engineer living in Ithaca NY. The web has fascinated me since I first had access to it in 1995 and I make web pages for fun and to support my friends and organizations that I belong to. Besides hanging out with my daughters and enjoying the great things to do outdoors in Ithaca I'm an avid folk music fan and contra dancer and spend way too much time organizing the Cornell Folk Song Club concert series.
What's with the name
No I don't really have anything against ferrets as long as they stay away from the sound equipment. Seriously, when my friends Phil Shapiro and Carrie Shore played their first public gig a couple of years ago the sound system was disabled by ferrets mid-set, really. "No ferrets" became a joke and roughly equivalent to "Didn't suck" as in... "How was the gig?", "No Ferrets". All the domain names related to my name were taken and noferrets just appealed to my sense of humor.
About the site
This site is created and maintained using CityDesk from Fog Creek Software. It should be valid xhtml 1.0 transitional and css but frankly I validate when I have problems so if you're really compulsive about that stuff you can probably find something to bug me about. I use Nick Bradbury's TopStyle html/css editor to create my style sheets and CityDesk templates.
I can be reached at kenmck@pobox.com
